Ironwood Circle shooting investigation

Bradenton Police Officers responded to an apartment building in the 4400 block of Ironwood Circle shortly before 3 p.m. after a 911 caller reported concern for a woman who threatened to harm herself and who had access to firearms.  

Once on scene, officers confirmed the woman was armed, secured the building, and established a rapport with her. The woman agreed to leave her apartment but, moments later, fired multiple shots within the residence. The woman was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. 

No officers were injured.
