Bradenton PD Teams Up with Tampa Bay Rays for ‘Park, Walk, and Cheer’ Program
The Bradenton Police Department is partnering with the Tampa Bay Rays to bring the 'Park, Walk, and Cheer' initiative to Bradenton. This program allows officers to provide complimentary Rays tickets to hand out to young people and community volunteers who step up to the plate and perform good deeds and service to others.
Through this program, officers hope to recognize the City of Bradenton’s most valuable players who embody the spirit of The Friendly City. We especially would like to reward children whose families might otherwise not be able to afford a trip to see a major league ballgame.
“The Park, Walk, and Cheer Program strengthens our commitment to community-oriented policing by allowing officers to interact with Bradenton's all-stars, build relationships, and reward good citizenship,” said Police Chief Melanie Bevan.
“We are grateful for our continued partnerships with Major League Baseball, including the Tampa Bay Rays and the Pittsburg Pirates," added Mayor Gene Brown.
We encourage you to tell our officers about someone who has scored a grand slam in service!
Park, Walk, and Cheer vouchers can be redeemed for up to four seats at a regular home season game. The vouchers cannot be used for games against the New York Mets, New York Yankees, and Chicago Cubs.
