November 7, 2024

Case #:2024-008824 (Update)

Bradenton Police detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man found injured in a West Bradenton neighborhood in the early morning hours of October 30, 2024.

Sherrone Jackson, 27, a resident of Sarasota County, was dropped off by a ride-share service near the intersection of 68th St. W. and 12th Ave. W. at approximately 10:45 p.m. on October 29. Jackson intended to pick up a spare key left in the mailbox of a nearby home and return to Sarasota County using another ride-share. However, information provided to detectives indicates Jackson was still waiting for the ride-share at 11:55 p.m.

At 1:45 a.m., a passerby found Jackson unconscious in the intersection. Doctors determined Jackson sustained a traumatic brain injury, but the cause is unknown.

Jackson, who never regained consciousness, died from his injuries on November 6.

At the time, Jackson wore black Nike shorts, a white tank top, black slide sandals, and a red trucker-style hat with "Badlands" on the front.

Anyone who saw Jackson the night of October 29 or noticed anything unusual in the area is asked to contact Det. Mulligan at william.mulligan@bradentonpd.com or 941-932-9313. Tips can be submitted anonymously to Manatee Crime Stoppers at manateecrimestoppers.com
