Bradenton man arrested for DUI Manslaughter

Overnight, the Bradenton Police Department arrested Milton May, 52, of Bradenton, for DUI Manslaughter and DUI with Serious Bodily Injury.  

According to Traffic Homicide Investigators, May left a local business shortly before 10:15 p.m. Monday, July 7th. He was driving his pickup eastbound on 42nd Ave W and went into the path of a motorcycle traveling northbound on 59th St W.  

As a result of the collision, the motorcycle passenger, a 35-year-old Palmetto woman, sustained fatal injuries. The 28-year-old motorcycle driver, a Bradenton resident, was critically injured and remains in the ICU.  

May stayed at the scene but exhibited signs of impairment. After he refused to submit to field sobriety tests, he was arrested and transported to a hospital. Investigators obtained a warrant for the collection of a blood sample. The result of the BAC test is pending. May will be transported to the Manatee County jail once he receives medical clearance. Additional charges are possible.
