School Crossing Guard (Part-time)
Department: Bradenton Police Department
Compensation: $24/hour
Hours: Part-time
Two-hour shift minimum
Two shifts daily (morning and afternoon)
Work approximately 179 days/year
Work shifts mirror the school calendar
Deadline: Open until filled
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist and supervise the crossing of school children at designated crossings. Records names or operators and license numbers of vehicles violating traffic regulations at the school crosswalk and reports violators to the police department.
Skills and Physical Abilities Required:
Ability to work with children and instruct them on crossing streets in a safe manner
Ability to understand and carry out simple oral and written instructions
Frequent standing and walking required
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions
Must possess and have the ability to maintain a valid Florida driver's license
Must pass a background investigation
Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
