Toddler Drowns in Residential Pool

The Bradenton Police Department is investigating a tragic drowning that occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at a vacation rental home in the 2800 block of 23rd Avenue W. 

A family member discovered a 15-month-old child unresponsive in a residential pool and pulled him from the water. Despite life-saving measures by EMS and medical professionals at Blake Hospital, the child passed away shortly before 5 p.m. 

The child’s family is from Arkansas. The drowning appears accidental; however, the investigation is ongoing. 

Bradenton Police Department’s chaplain responded to Blake Hospital to assist the family. BPD’s Peer Support Team is available to officers who responded to the scene and hospital yesterday.
