Domestic incident ends following standoff; Man faces multiple charges

Malcolm McAllister, 31, of Palmetto, faces multiple charges following a standoff with Bradenton Police Officers this morning. 

Shortly after 6 AM, Officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at a home in the 1100 block of 20th Street E., and encountered McAllister, who was armed with a handgun. McAllister, who does not live at the residence, retreated into the home. At the time, an adult female and five juveniles were inside. The adult and four children managed to get out, leaving behind a young child, who was asleep at the time.  

The Bradenton Police SWAT Team and Hostage Negotiation Team responded to the scene, and at approximately 8:25 AM, McAllister surrendered to Officers. The child inside the home was not injured. Bradenton Police Detectives recovered the firearm from the home, and determined it had been reported stolen in Hillsborough County. 

McAllister has been charged with Aggravated Domestic Violence with a firearm; Kidnapping; Burglary with Battery; Aggravated Domestic Violence by strangulation; and Felon in possession of a firearm. At the time of his arrest, McAllister was wanted on similar charges in Manatee County.
