CSX repairs require emergency closure

The following information has been provided to the Bradenton Police Department by CSX Transportation.

A track defect at the railroad crossing located at 9th Avenue W., between 5th Street W. and 6th Street W. requires an emergency closure to make the necessary repairs.

CSX plans to close the railroad crossing on or around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28. The railroad crossing is scheduled to reopen on or around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29. This is a total closure, meaning no traffic will be allowed across the track until the work is complete. Signage will be in place marking detour routes. Please note that dates are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.

The Bradenton Police Department urges drivers to plan alternate routes and anticipate delays on 6th Avenue W. and 13th Avenue W.
